Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) play a strategic role in driving regional economic growth; however, they continue to face various challenges regarding financial management and the adoption of digital technology. One way to enhance business performance and sustainability is by optimizing the use of Financial Technology (FinTech). This Community Service (PKM) initiative aims to improve the understanding and capabilities of MSME owners in utilizing FinTech services to support financial management, transaction efficiency, and sustainable business development.
The program was conducted from February 7 to March 28, 2026, in Mugirejo Village, Samarinda City, involving 50 MSME owners from the food and beverage sector. Implementation methods included awareness-raising sessions, material presentations, demonstrations of FinTech services, hands-on practice guidance, and interactive discussions. The material covered the concepts of FinTech, the use of digital payments (QRIS and digital wallets), mobile banking, digital bookkeeping applications, digital financing services, and strategies for implementing financial technology to boost business performance and sustainability.
The results indicate that participants engaged enthusiastically throughout the program and actively participated in the discussion sessions. Through this initiative, participants gained a better understanding of the benefits of FinTech in accelerating transactions, improving financial management efficiency, expanding access to financial services, and supporting business decision-making. This community service activity is expected to foster digital financial literacy and accelerate the digital transformation of MSMEs, thereby enhancing their performance and sustainability amidst the growth of the digital economy.
