Pemahaman Tata kelola Koperasi Kelurahan Merah Putih bagi Pengurus Koperasi Kelurahan Merah Putih Kota Samarinda

Cooperatives are one of the main pillars of Indonesia’s community economy, founded on the values of kinship and mutual cooperation. In practice, however, many cooperatives continue to face various challenges, particularly in organizational governance. This community service program was carried out to improve the capacity of the board members of Kelurahan Merah Putih Cooperative in Samarinda in understanding the principles of good cooperative governance. The method applied was participatory training, conducted in July 2025 with 30 cooperative board members as participants. The results of the activity showed a significant improvement in the participants’ understanding of basic cooperative concepts, standardized financial reporting practices, the importance of transparency and accountability, as well as awareness of cooperative regulations. Participants also benefited from report simulations and interactive discussions that were highly relevant to the real problems they encounter in daily operations. In addition to providing technical skill enhancement, this activity also served to strengthen the relationship between the university and the community as a concrete implementation of the Tri Dharma of Higher Education. With increased institutional capacity, cooperatives are expected to grow in a healthier, more professional, and sustainable manner, thereby supporting community economic independence at the neighborhood level.
